New pro-gun group challenging extreme gun control of U.S. Virgin Islands
Summary
A new pro-gun group, Virgin Islands Safe Gun Owners, has formed with over 250 members, led by Kosei Ohno, to challenge the U.S. Virgin Islands' restrictive gun laws. Ohno, who filed a federal lawsuit after being denied firearm license renewal, is also providing evidence to the U.S. Department of Justice for its December 2025 lawsuit against the VI government, alleging systematic denial of Second Amendment rights. The group has also introduced legislation aimed at modernizing firearms ownership in the territory.
