The Beretta 951A was an automatic variant of the successful Model 51 pistol, developed to create a machine pistol. Modifications included a folding front grip and increased slide mass to reduce its cyclic rate to approximately 750 RPM. Despite these efforts, the 951A saw limited production (around 78 units) due to practical issues like muzzle climb and limited capacity, ultimately leading to the more refined Beretta 93R.
