The Yugoslav M52 Sniper is a unique hybrid rifle, combining a Zastava M48A Mauser action with a Yugoslavian copy of the Soviet PU scope. Developed due to Yugoslavia's adoption of the 8mm Mauser cartridge over the Soviet 7.62x54R, these rifles featured modified Soviet scope mounts and indigenous ON-52 optics with 4x magnification. Production at the Zastava factory involved repurposing parts from Soviet Mosin-Nagants and selecting accurate M48A rifles.
