Active duty military and police personnel in the Philippines are now exempted from the neuropsychiatric (NP) exam requirement for obtaining or renewing their License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF). This change acknowledges the rigorous and frequent NP and physical screenings already undergone by these professionals during their service, making the LTOPF NP exam redundant. However, other government services like the Coast Guard, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) are not included in this exemption.
