The Maxim-Silverman Model 1896 is an extremely rare automatic pistol, likely designed by Lewis Silverman. Its simple blowback action struggled with the powerful 7.63mm Borchardt cartridge, requiring an external delaying spring. Only three known examples exist, in different calibers, with the project likely abandoned due to Maxim's focus on machine guns.
