The SAR80, a Singaporean-designed rifle based on the Sterling AR-180, was produced by Chartered Industries of Singapore. It features a stamped steel construction, a short-stroke gas piston system, and accepts STANAG magazines. While adopted by Singapore and exported, it saw limited use in Slovenia, which preferred AK variants. The rifle's design aimed for economical production for export markets.
