The FBI is now providing Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) with access to a database of stolen gun records. This initiative aims to help gun dealers identify potentially stolen firearms presented for sale, a long-standing problem in the industry. While the system has only been available for about a month, it allows FFLs to quickly check a gun's serial number to determine if it has been reported stolen.
