This video tests the corrosion resistance of brass versus steel-cased ammunition when exposed to saltwater for one week. Surprisingly, both types of ammunition, despite visible corrosion, were able to fire successfully. The 7.62x39 steel-cased ammunition showed more extensive damage than the .223 Remington brass-cased rounds.
