Palmetto State Armory is updating its JAKL platform based on customer feedback from SHOT Show 2025. The JAKL 2.0, initially planned with specific design changes, is now evolving into an entirely new product to be revealed before SHOT Show 2026. Features intended for the 2.0 will be incorporated into a future JAKL 1.5 model, allowing PSA to retain the current platform's strengths while addressing market demands for mil-spec lower receiver compatibility.
Ascend Armory has introduced a new 7075 aluminum lightweight receiver set, reducing weight by approximately 3.5 ounces for a total of 13 ounces for the stripped set. This set maintains the ambidextrous bolt catch and release features while updating the handguard interface to mil-spec dimensions for broader compatibility. The receiver set is priced at $610 and includes take-down pins, ambi bolt catch/release, mag release, and anti-rotation pins, requiring only a safety selector, trigger, and stock kit to complete.
