Missouri has become the 12th state to enact constitutional carry, allowing residents to conceal carry without a permit starting January 2017. This legislation, Senate Bill 656, successfully overturned Governor Nixon's veto with a two-thirds majority vote. The bill also strengthens 'stand your ground' laws and expands existing 'castle doctrine' protections for individuals legally present on a property.
