The Hagen Prototype Semiauto Rifle, designed by Hagen and manufactured in the UK, was tested by the French military in 1912. It features a proprietary 7x56.5mm cartridge, a long-stroke gas piston, and a two-lug rotating bolt. Despite good accuracy and trigger, French trials revealed significant reliability issues, including 22 failures to feed and one to eject in 200 rounds, culminating in a broken gas piston.
