This review tests Underwood's .380 ACP +P 90-grain XTP ammunition in a ballistic gel setup simulating self-defense scenarios. Despite initial skepticism, the ammo performed exceptionally well, with both a Ruger LCP Max and a Smith & Wesson Shield EZ achieving significant expansion and adequate penetration through a heavy clothing barrier. Recovered projectiles showed near 100% weight retention, making this load one of the best .380 defensive options tested.
