The Marlin/United Defense UD-42 is a 9mm open-bolt submachine gun designed by Gus Swebilius. Initially ordered by the Dutch government, production delays meant the 15,000 units were instead supplied to the OSS and SOE for European resistance groups. It features a high rate of fire, Thompson-style magazine locks, and a simple blowback action.
