Army, Geissele, Carpenter Partner on Next-Gen Barrels

The U.S. Army partnered with Geissele Automatics and Carpenter Technology through CRADAs signed in 2022 to develop next-generation small arms barrels. This initiative focuses on combating barrel wear from high-pressure ammunition using Carpenter's GNB 200 alloy and Geissele's cold-hammer forging and F41A21/18 rifle profile, which received a patent in October 2025.
