POTD: Eject, Survive, Stay Silent - The S&W Model 41
Summary
In March 1967, the U.S. Air Force ordered a limited batch of 30 factory-modified Smith & Wesson Model 41 pistols for Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird pilot survival kits. These pistols featured threaded barrels, slide-lock mechanisms, suppressors, spare magazines, and Oxford white-dot illuminated sights, designed for low-signature self-defense and small game foraging behind enemy lines.
