NSSF Vows Legal Challenge if Maryland Bans Striker-Fired Handguns

Summary

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has vowed to legally challenge Maryland's Senate Bill 334 and House Bill 557 if Governor Wes Moore signs them into law. These bills, titled "Criminal Law - Firearm Crimes - Machine Gun Convertible Pistols," would ban the manufacture, sale, or transfer of popular striker-fired handguns, such as Glocks, by prohibiting those with a cruciform trigger bar, effective January 1, 2027. NSSF argues the ban infringes on Second Amendment rights and plans to cite the Supreme Court's Heller ruling.
