FN Introduces ARKA, a New 5.56 Rifle Built With SCAR DNA and AR Controls

FN Herstal has introduced the new FN ARKA rifle, chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. It combines the battle-proven short-stroke piston operating system and mechanical DNA of the FN SCAR with familiar AR-15 ergonomics and controls. The ARKA is currently aimed at military, law enforcement, and special forces customers, with no immediate plans for a U.S. civilian market release.
