This experiment tests the ballistic resistance of a cast iron sewer lid against various calibers. While 9mm, 10mm, .44 Magnum, and 12-gauge slugs failed to penetrate, the 7.62x51mm round from an FN SCAR successfully penetrated the lid and a dummy. The .50 BMG round demonstrated extreme power, easily destroying the lid and the target.
