This test evaluates the ballistic protection of GMC SUV doors against common handgun calibers. The 9mm Federal HST and .45 ACP Hornady XTP rounds were fired into a GMC Suburban. While the 9mm consistently penetrated both doors, the .45 ACP was initially stopped by an internal safety bar before subsequent shots penetrated. The conclusion is that standard car doors offer minimal protection against these firearms.
