The Daewoo K1A1 is a unique South Korean carbine that blends AR-15 and AR-18 operating systems. It features an AR-15 direct gas impingement system and bolt, but uses an AR-18 style dual recoil spring system above the bolt carrier, allowing for a collapsing stock without a buffer tube. Originally designed to replace the M3 Grease Gun, it was later imported into the US as a semi-automatic variant with a 16-inch barrel.
