The Trijicon Ventus is a handheld, laser-based remote wind sensor featuring a 1550nm laser for ranging up to 5000 meters and three 1550nm lasers for wind measurement up to 500 meters using the Doppler effect. It integrates a full environmental suite for ballistic solutions, including air temperature, pressure, incline angle, GPS, and magnetic heading. The Ventus X model will include a ballistic solver utilizing Trijicon's CCAS fire control system data, with a library of 160-180 bullets.
The Trijicon Ventus is a new handheld remote wind sensor utilizing 1550nm fiber lasers to measure atmospheric conditions. It calculates wind speed by detecting wavelength shifts from dust particles at six different distances. The device also offers impressive range-finding capabilities up to 5,000 yards on real targets, not just artificial ones. It will integrate with ballistic solutions via Bluetooth and a cell phone app to display wind data and target location in 3D.
