Quick Tip: Correct Scope Height - AR-15 vs Conventional Rifles
Mounting a scope on an AR-15 requires a different approach than conventional rifles due to its straight-line stock design. Unlike bolt-actions with stock drop, AR-15s need higher scope mounts, often using cantilever designs, to achieve a proper cheek weld and eye alignment. Attempting to mount scopes too low, as is common practice for other rifle types, leads to poor ergonomics and difficulty acquiring a sight picture on an AR platform.
