The New FN 509
The FN 509 is a durable, striker-fired 9mm semi-automatic pistol developed from the FNS compact architecture and born out of the Army's MHS competition. It features a 4-inch cold hammer-forged stainless steel barrel with a 1:10-inch right-hand twist rate, a trigger pull between 5.5 and 7.5 pounds, and a polymer frame weighing 26.9 ounces. The pistol includes ambidextrous magazine and slide releases, fixed three-dot luminescent sights, and a Mil-Std 1913 accessory rail. Extensive testing has confirmed its reliability, ammunition compatibility, and durability.
