URZ: Czech Prototype Universal Modular Weapon
The URZ (Universal Hand Weapon) was a Czech prototype modular weapon system designed by Jiri Cermak, intended to be configurable as various firearms from rifles to machine guns. It featured a unique roller-delayed blowback action and a mechanically actuated 50-round belt-fed drum. Despite its innovative design, the project was canceled in 1970 with only nine units produced, likely due to political or economic factors.
