Holstered Sig M18 Kills Airman NCO - Airforce Bans Sig P320
A US Air Force NCO was fatally shot by his own Sig Sauer M18 service pistol while it was still holstered. The incident occurred when the NCO removed his Safari Land holster with the M18 inside, unlocked the QLS fork, and placed it on a table, resulting in an accidental discharge. This event led to an immediate pause on all M18 operations within Air Force Global Strike Command and a directive to use M4 rifles in its place pending investigation. The video highlights a history of uncommanded discharges with the Sig P320 platform, including instances of guns discharging when dropped or in hand, and notes ongoing litigation and previous agencies dropping Sig products.
