Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier is lauded for actively restoring Second Amendment rights in the state. He ended Florida's open-carry ban in September 2025, based on a 1st DCA ruling in *McDaniels v. State*. More recently, he ended the three-day waiting period for firearm purchases for non-CCW holders by settling a federal case and also defended the concealed carry rights of 18-20-year-old Floridians.
