This video compares the ballistic performance of the AutoMag III in .30 Carbine against a Desert Eagle in .44 Magnum. The .30 Carbine penetrated six watermelons, while the .44 Magnum penetrated nine. In a safe penetration test, the .30 Carbine was more effective against the outer layer than the .44 Magnum soft point. Neither round penetrated a Level 3 ballistic shield.
