The California Department of Justice, under Attorney General Rob Bonta, "accidentally" released a database containing the personal information of gun owners. This data, including names, addresses, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers, was made downloadable, potentially exposing individuals to theft and identity fraud. The incident occurred shortly after the Bruin case ruling, and the DOJ Firearms Dashboard portal has since been taken down.
