Arex AKB-15: A Lost AK Modernization Project
The Arex AKB-15 was a 2015 modernization project for AK platforms, featuring a monolithic upper, AR-style adjustable stock, and M-LOK slots for enhanced accessory mounting. Despite its modern features and improved ergonomics, the project failed to secure military contracts and faced challenges in civilian receiver sourcing, preventing mass production. Range testing indicated it performed similarly to a standard AK but offered a more stable platform for optics.
