Czechoslovakia Recycles Mosins: The vz.54 Sniper
The Czechoslovakian vz.54 sniper rifle, developed by Otakar Galas, utilized modified Mosin-Nagant actions for political and logistical reasons, chambered in 7.62x54mmR. Produced from 1956-1958 by CZ Uherský Brod, it featured a Meopta 2.5x scope and a custom stock, achieving approximately 1 MOA accuracy. It served until the 1970s before being replaced by the SVD Dragunov.
