HK 41: "Paramilitary Rifle" for the Bundeswehr
The HK 41, a semi-automatic variant of the G3, was developed for West German reservists due to legal restrictions on select-fire weapons. Produced from 1966-1977 in 7.62x51mm, it underwent modifications for US import, including a 'shelf' receiver to prevent full-auto conversion. Legal changes in Germany led to its redesign as the HK 91. With only about 400 imported into the US, the HK 41 is a rare and sought-after collector's item.
