Review of the Colt M45A1 Marine Corps Pistol
This review critically examines the Colt M45A1, a .45 ACP variant adopted by the US Marine Corps. Despite its 1911 heritage, the M45A1 faced significant issues including frame/slide cracking, low capacity (7 rounds), and finish failures. The review highlights how modern alternatives like the Sig P227, HK USP Tactical, and Glock 21 offer superior capacity and reliability, leading to the USMC's eventual shift to the Glock 19.
