Soviet World War Two Swords? The Cossack M1927 Shashka
The M1927 Shashka was a Soviet cavalry saber used extensively by Cossack divisions in the Red Army during WWII. This specific example, produced for the 1945 Victory Parade, features a distinctive bird's head grip, a 32-inch curved blade, and a leather-covered scabbard. While officer and infantry patterns existed, the infantry version could accommodate a Mosin-Nagant bayonet. Markings indicate production at the IMZ factory.
