Krag Jorgensen Run and Gun
The Krag Jorgensen Model 1892, while featuring a remarkably smooth bolt action and good accuracy, proved to be a slow rifle in a 'run and gun' scenario due to its unique side-loading gate. This design, a departure from contemporary Mauser stripper clip systems, significantly hindered rapid reloading under pressure. Despite its historical significance as the US Army's first smokeless powder bolt-action rifle, its combat effectiveness was limited by this loading mechanism.
