10 Day Waiting Period In New York Passes And More
New York has passed several new gun control measures, including a 10-day waiting period for firearm transfers (S 4818), restrictions on open carry of long guns (S 9137A), and an expansion of who can petition for Extreme Risk Protection Orders. A voluntary firearm waiver (S 2086A) was also passed, allowing individuals to relinquish their Second Amendment rights. These bills are moving to the assembly and are expected to be signed by the governor, significantly impacting gun ownership in the state.
