Ground Breaking Supreme Court Concealed Carry Decision Avoided!!!
The state of New York is preemptively amending its firearm laws in anticipation of a Supreme Court decision in the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen case. A new bill, S-1192, proposes a firearm safety certificate mechanism requiring at least five hours of classroom instruction and two hours of live firing. This is seen as a measure to create additional barriers to exercising Second Amendment rights, potentially pricing out individuals and making firearm ownership more complex.
