Israel Loosens Gun Control in Wake of Attacks
Following recent terror attacks, Israel is significantly loosening its strict gun control policies. The Minister of National Security has ordered an emergency operation to allow more civilians to arm themselves, a move intended to take effect within 24 hours. This includes broadening standards for civilian gun permits and loosening the 'good cause' requirement for those living in communities deemed actively in danger. Previously, Israel had stringent requirements including licenses for manufacturing, importing, possessing, carrying, buying, selling, operating ranges, shipping, and registration, alongside mental/physical health checks, background checks, training, age minimums, and a 50-round annual ammunition limit.
