The One Big Beautiful Lawsuit - We're Suing Over Congress' Failure
Gun Owners of America (GOA) is filing a lawsuit to challenge the National Firearms Act of 1934. This action follows Congress's reduction of the tax on suppressors and short-barreled firearms from $200 to zero, achieved through budget reconciliation. GOA argues that the Senate Parliamentarian's ruling, deeming the NFA repeal primarily policy rather than tax-related, improperly blocked a full repeal via reconciliation. The organization aims to dismantle the NFA's registration requirements and taxation entirely, viewing the recent tax reduction as a partial victory and a stepping stone for legal challenges.
