US Army Just Demolished The LARGEST Ammo Production Facility Of THIS Popular Caliber!
The US Army's primary small arms ammunition production facility, the Lake City Ammunition Plant, is undergoing significant changes. Building 4, the largest producer of 7.62 NATO, has been demolished to make way for a new facility focused on the next-generation 6.8mm caliber. This consolidation has led to reduced production capacity in the interim, with 7.62 NATO now being produced alongside 5.56 NATO and 6.8mm in Building 2, and 50 caliber alongside 9mm in Building 3. The new facility is expected to be operational by 2028 and will feature advanced production capabilities.
