We Torture Tested One of The Cheapest 2011s - What Could Go Wrong?
Micah Mayfield conducts an extensive torture test on a Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy, firing over 2,000 rounds in a single day to evaluate its reliability and performance compared to high-end 2011s. The test highlights the firearm's surprisingly flat shooting and fast trigger, but also reveals significant issues with the Hex red dot optic's durability and brightness, as well as reliability degradation under extreme heat and fouling, particularly with certain ammunition. Despite these challenges, the Prodigy demonstrates mechanical accuracy at 200 yards.
